Singh said, “Yeddyurappa is the Chief Minister, he is doing a good job and will continue to be the Chief Minister.” He said, “He has done a good job during the Covid situation, all the ministers and the party – all have done a good job. ”
Addressing reporters in Delhi, he said that there has been no discussion at the high command level regarding the demand for resignation from the Chief Minister. “Yeddyurappa is doing a good job as chief minister, he is working hard with the ministers and MLAs, the organization is also working well,” he said.
“He (Yeddyurappa) will continue as chief minister,” Singh said. He termed the change of chief minister and party’s state president Nalin Kumar Kateel as “rumour” and “fictitious”. Significantly, for some time, there was speculation that a section of the ruling BJP was pressurizing Yeddyurappa to remove him.
Amid reports, Yediyurappa had on Sunday said that he would continue at the top post as long as the BJP high command has faith in him and has no illusions about it. Responding to a question on Yediyurappa’s statement, Singh said, as a loyal party worker, the Chief Minister has expressed his faith in the leadership. He said, “.. Our high command is such that everyone, be it the state president, chief minister and leaders, everyone has faith in him.
On some MLAs and leaders making open statements against the state leadership and the Chief Minister, Singh said no one should make such public statements, and an explanation would be sought from those involved in such activities. “If anyone has any problem, they can talk to me, but no one should make a public statement,” he said.
