Johnson has backed the statement from England’s sports minister, as well as expressing displeasure at the England Cricket Board’s decision. Britain’s Sports and Culture Minister Oliver Dowden on Monday called on the England Cricket Board (ECB) to reconsider Robinson’s suspension.
A spokesman for Prime Minister Johnson said Monday, “As Oliver Dowden said, this tweet is from a decade ago. Robinson was young then. He also apologized. ‘ Earlier, Dowden had also commented on the matter. ‘Oli’s tweets were controversial and wrong. It was a tweet from a kid a decade ago. Now the boy has become a man and he has apologized. He has been suspended by the England Cricket Board, so it should be reconsidered, “said Dowden.
