In the meeting, Tandon directed to make timely arrangements and make separate wards for children to counter the possible third wave of corona virus epidemic.

During this, the officials informed the minister that oxygen plants have been installed on a large scale in the district and a total of 2950 beds were arranged to treat the patients in the second wave.

Officials apprised the Minister that 100 covid beds and 50 non covid beds are being arranged for children at Sir Sunder Lal Hospital, Banaras Hindu University to deal with possible third wave. 64 beds for infants are being prepared in Deendayal Hospital. Oxygen plants have been arranged in seven hospitals, out of which four plants have been installed while the remaining three will be installed in the next 10-12 days.

He said that two oxygen plants for Deendayal Government Hospital, two plants in Shri Shivprasad Gupta Divisional Hospital, two oxygen plants in ESI have come up.

He said that separate oxygen plants would be set up for the Emergency Services Department of Sir Sunderlal Hospital and Cancer Hospital.

Officials told the minister that 18 complaints of overcharging for treatment in private hospitals have been received, on which action is being taken.

On this, Tandon directed that strict action should be taken against such hospitals.
