Regarding vaccination of Hindu migrants in his district, Jaisalmer District Magistrate Ashish Modi said he conducted a survey of migrants who do not have any Indian documents but have Pakistani passports.
“We have identified 2,281 such migrants in Jaisalmer and started vaccinating them on the basis of their passports. Till now 17 of them have been vaccinated and this campaign will start in full swing from Friday.
Similarly, Barmer District Magistrate Lok Bandhu said that vaccination of migrants without local identity cards has started. A total of 21 of them were vaccinated on Tuesday, the first day of the campaign.
Meanwhile, Jodhpur’s Chief Medical and Health Officer Balwant Manda said that they have not received any instruction from the state government on vaccination of Pakistani Hindu migrants and no decision has been taken on the issue yet.
Jodhpur has the largest number of Pakistani Hindu migrants awaiting citizenship and their insecurities have been compounded by the administration not taking any decision on their vaccination.
