UP: Doctors successfully operated on Navajat girl infected with black fungus

Agra, Jun 7 (PTI) Doctors at Sarojini Naidu Medical College, Agra in Uttar Pradesh successfully operated on a newborn baby girl infected with black fungus.

The head of the ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat) department Dr Akhilesh Pratap Singh told PTI that the 14-day-old girl was admitted on Saturday evening, with black marks and blisters on her cheek. He said that the black fungus infection was removed by operating the girl on Monday.

Singh said that when the girl child was admitted to SNMC, she was also suffering from kidney and heart ailments and was underweight. However, the girl did not have any symptoms of Kovid-19.

He said that the girl is now out of danger and has been admitted to the ICU. The child is being constantly monitored.
