Two Palestinian officers killed in West Bank shooting

Ramallah (West Bank), Jun 10 (AP) The Palestinian Health Ministry said two of its security officers were shot dead by Israeli forces during clashes early Thursday in the city of Genin in the Israeli-held West Bank. .

In online videos, Palestinian officers are seen hailing the vehicle and shots fired behind. One of these officers appears to be saying they are firing with Israeli “undercover” forces.

The ministry said a third Palestinian was seriously injured in the shootout. There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military.

A poster showing local media identified the two dead as members of the Palestinian Authority’s military intelligence force.

Israeli raids are common in autonomous West Bank areas administered by the Palestinian Authority and are often aimed at arresting wanted Palestinians. However, skirmishes with Palestinian forces are rare as such operations are considered coordinated between the two sides.
