Two brokers arrested for taking bribe of 2.5 lakh rupees, councilor absconding

Jaipur, Nov 10 (PTI) The Anti-Corruption Bureau has arrested two touts and a head constable for taking bribe by taking action at two different places in Beawar and Sirohi districts of Ajmer.

Bhagwan Lal Soni, Director General of the Bureau said in a statement that Kuldeep Bohra, Councilor of Ward 57 of Beawar Municipal Council of Ajmer and Anil Chaudhary, Councilor of Ward 56, through their broker Bharat Mangal, rebuilt the sweet shop of a person in Beawar Bazar. He said that after verification of the complaint, the bureau team along with accused Bharat Mangal arrested Sunil Lakhara red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 2.5 lakh from the complainant.

Soni said that councilor Kuldeep Bohra and other suspects fled from the spot as soon as they got to know about the action of the bureau team. The search for them is on.

He said that in another action, head constable Motilal, posted at Aburoad Sadar police station in Sirohi district, was arrested red-handed while accepting a bribe of four thousand rupees. Motilal had allegedly demanded a bribe against a person in lieu of settlement in the complaint.

Soni said that the search of the residence and other places of the accused is going on and investigation is being done by registering a case against them under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
