Two arrested for issuing fake RT-PCR test report

Rishikesh, Jun 5 (PTI) A man and a woman have been arrested for allegedly issuing fake RT-PCR reports to tourists. Muni ki Reti station in-charge Kamal Mohan Bhandari said that such a complaint was received that eight RT-PCR reports shown by tourists coming here from Delhi were found to be fake in the investigation. After this these arrests happened. Dhalwala, an accused named Vinay Bisht, used to work at the Kovid check-post and obtained a fake negative RT-PCR report from Sheetal Snehi Jatav, a computer operator working in the city’s Kovid testing laboratory.

Bhandari said that both of them have been arrested and a fine of Rs 5,000 has been imposed on them per report. The state government has made a negative RT-PCR report mandatory for people coming from outside, which should not be older than 72 hours.
