The air is becoming toxic due to increasing air pollution across the country. Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency of PM Modi, is no exception. To improve the climate of Varanasi, the Yogi government has prepared a foolproof plan. With the onset of monsoon, the plantation campaign will start in Varanasi. Under this campaign, 18 lakh saplings will be planted in Varanasi.
Pankaj Gupta, Chief Conservator of Forests, Varanasi Circle, said that it is very important to have enough oxygen in the atmosphere for environmental protection. For this purpose, with the onset of monsoon, the Forest Department has set a target to plant fruitful and oxygen-producing plants like Peepal, Banyan, Cycle, Pakad, Mango, Guava, Jamun, Amla and Arjun in Varanasi.
All government departments will also be there
Pankaj Gupta told that all government departments will be involved in this mega campaign starting in Varanasi. Apart from the vacant places of government offices, plantation will also be done in those areas of the urban area, where people, social organizations will extend their hands for the protection of these plants with sufficient space.
1.5 crore saplings to be planted in Varanasi division
Under this mega campaign 1.5 crore saplings will be planted in Varanasi division. Apart from Varanasi, a target has been set to plant 38 lakh saplings in Ghazipur, 49 lakh in Chandauli, 50 lakh in Jaunpur.
