The BCCI has decided that Rahul Dravid will be the head coach for the series, according to CricketBuzz. Dravid is currently the head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA). Dravid’s teammates from the academy are likely to go on tour to Sri Lanka as assistant coaches.

Team India will arrive in Sri Lanka at least a week before the India v Sri Lanka series. Earlier, the BCCI had planned to hold a training camp in Bangalore for all the players on the tour. However, due to the Corona situation and lockdown in the country, the idea has been canceled.

Who will be the captain?

The selection of Shikhar Dhawan as the captain of the team, which will travel to Sri Lanka with young players, is almost certain. Shreyas Iyer has not yet fully recovered from the injury, so the experienced Dhawan will lead the team.

Although the BCCI has not announced the dates of the tour, Ten Sports, the official broadcaster of the tournament, has announced the schedule. According to a tweet by Sony Ten Sports, the series will start on July 13, with the last match to be played on July 25.

The ODI and T20 series are expected to be played at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
