Tata Steel BSL builds 100 bedded Kovid Hospital in Odisha

Dhenkanal, Jun 8 (PTI) Tata Steel BSL has set up a 100 bedded COVID-19 hospital in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district. Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan digitally inaugurated this hospital on Monday evening.

The hospital, located at Kharagprasad Regional Higher Secondary School under Odapada block of the district, has 50 beds with piped oxygen, 40 beds with oxygen concentrators and 10 ICU beds with ventilators. Apart from this, the hospital also has other medical equipment required to provide secondary level care to the patients of Kovid-19.

Praising Tata Steel BSL and the district administration for setting up the hospital so quickly, Pradhan said, “This hospital will strengthen the health infrastructure for the people of the region, especially the people of Dhenkanal and Angul.”

Odisha Health and Family Welfare Minister NK Das said the hospital will help in the long run in the fight against COVID-19 in the region. With more facilities for the treatment of Kovid-19 patients, this hospital will help in providing quality healthcare at the right time to the patients coming from hinterland here instead of in the city.

Thanking the government for its continued support in completing this project, T V Narendran, Chairman, Tata Steel BSL said that Tata Steel and the Tata Group are working with the central and state governments in the fight against COVID-19. is. “Besides supplying more than 45,000 tonnes of oxygen since April 1, we are also importing containers and building hospitals. ”

Rajiv Singhal, Managing Director, Tata Steel BSL said, “Due to the proactive and consistent support from the government, this COVID-19 hospital was built in a record two weeks. The hospital has 24-hour doctors, paramedics, lab services, X-ray facilities and other essential secondary care services.
