Chennai, Jun 7 (PTI) Tamil Nadu has allocated Rs 25 crore from the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund (CMPRF) for the purchase of amphotericin B and other drugs used in the treatment of black fungus patients. The black fungus was declared a notified disease by the state government on Monday and the announcement was made after that. According to Medical Minister M Subramaniam, the number of people suffering from this disease in the state till Sunday (June 6) was 921. An official release said, “Chief Minister MK Stalin has launched Amphoteresin B and other life-saving drugs used in the treatment of black fungus.

Stalin has requested the Union Health Ministry for adequate allocation of Amphotericin B drug.
