Raut said, “We are considering both the possibilities… The party is fully prepared for both the options.” Will contest elections When asked about the Mumbai municipal elections, Raut said the Shiv Sena is hopeful that the MVA alliance is likely to continue in all local elections in Maharashtra.
Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole had given a statement that his party was ready to contest all seats alone in the Mumbai elections. When asked about this, Raut said that he wishes them all the best. The Shiv Sena leader said, “They (Congress) did this in West Bengal. If the Congress comes to power at the Center on its own, nothing will be more historic than this. Asked about Shiv Sena’s poor performance in the Pune Municipal Corporation elections in the past, Raut said the party was working to strengthen its base and reach out to the people.
Asked about the standoff with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) over the election of Panchayat Samiti president in Khed, Raut said it is unfair to the party to break Shiv Sena members and move a no-confidence motion against Shiv Sena president Bhagwan Pokharkar. He said that when all the three parties are working together at the state level, then such incidents increase animosity. Raut alleged that NCP MLA from Khed Dilip Mohite Patil was involved in the matter. He requested NCP state chief Jayant Patil to look into the matter.
