Veteran Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has apologized for misconduct in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL).

Dhaka, June 11 : Veteran Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has apologized for misconduct in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL). In Friday’s match, Shakib crossed all boundaries and stumped and threw twice in front of the umpire. He also had an argument with the opposing team’s coach Khalid Mahamood. Khalid Mahmood is also the director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board.

After the video of Shakib’s behavior went viral on social media, he was widely criticized. He later apologized. He wrote a post on social media.

“I am very sorry to have lost control of my life, especially for those who were watching the match from home. An experienced player like me didn’t have to react that way, but sometimes that unfortunately happens. I apologize to the team, administration, competition officials and the organizing committee for this mistake. Such things will not happen again in the future. Thank you all and much love, ‘wrote Shakib in the post.

Shakib Al Hasan has been in frequent controversy for some time. Shakib was banned for a year for failing to inform the ICC’s anti-corruption squad even after being contacted by a match-fixer, after he broke the bio-bubble protocol last week. Now, Shakib’s video of misbehaving with the umpire has gone viral.

The 40th match of the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) was played between Mohammadan Sporting Club and Abhani Limited on Friday, when the umpire did not rule in favor of the team, so Shakib got angry.

Mohammed scored 145 in 20 overs, after which Shakib bowled in the fifth over to defend the challenge. Mushfiqur Rahim hit a four and a six to give Shakib 10 runs. Shakib appealed for a lbw off one ball of the over, but the umpire gave Mushfiqur a not out. Shakib got angry when he heard the umpire’s decision and kicked the stumps.

After the incident, the players of Mohammadan team also came together and the dispute on the field escalated. Najmul Hussain, who is standing at the non-striker end, was also shocked to see all this.

In another video, Shakib Al Hasan is seen arguing with the umpire once again. In this video, Shakib pulls the stump with his hand in front of the umpire and throws it on the ground.

Shakib is in poor form in the Dhaka Premier League. In the first 6 matches, he scored 73 runs at an average of 12.16, in which he was dismissed twice for zero. He also had a disappointing performance in the ODI series against Sri Lanka. In the match against Abhani, however, he hit 37 off 27 balls, including 1 four and 2 sixes. The question is whether the Bangladesh Cricket Board will take action against Shakib. Shakib is also unlikely to get permission from the Bangladesh board for the rest of the IPL.
