State government spokesperson said that Padmavati Oraon and father Devanand Tirkey, mother of late Rupa Tirkey, who was in-charge of women police station, met the Chief Minister along with MLA Bandhu Tirkey. He was accompanied by a delegation.
Members of the delegation told the chief minister that they suspected that sub-inspector of police Roopa Tirkey had not committed suicide but was murdered.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the investigation so far in this case, he urged the Chief Minister that a fair investigation should be conducted in the entire matter and strict action should be taken against those found guilty, so that his daughter can get justice.
The Chief Minister told the delegation that Roopa Tirkey was like his sister and was saddened by the death of a superior woman police officer of the tribal society.
He assures Roopa’s parents and the delegation that they will get justice. The Chief Minister said that a one-member inquiry commission has been constituted for the purpose of conducting a fair and detailed investigation into the entire matter.
Soren said that former Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court Vinod Kumar Gupta will give his report after conducting a detailed inquiry into the entire matter. He said that the guilty would not be spared at any cost and strict legal action would be taken against them.
It may be mentioned that Roopa Tirkey was found dead in her room last month and it was said that she had committed suicide.
