Thane, Jun 6 (PTI) The municipal areas of Thane and Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra have been placed in the second category of the Maharashtra government’s five-tier plan to relax restrictions imposed due to coronavirus. The basis of this plan is the weekly infection rate and percentage of oxygen beds filled. In the notification issued by Thane District Magistrate Rajesh Narvekar, Kalyan Dombivli Corporation area has been kept in the third category. Thane, Jun 6 (PTI) The municipal areas of Thane and Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra have been placed in the second category of the Maharashtra government’s five-tier plan to relax restrictions imposed due to coronavirus. The basis of this plan is the weekly infection rate and percentage of oxygen beds filled.

In the notification issued by Thane District Magistrate Rajesh Narvekar, Kalyan Dombivli Corporation area has been kept in the third category.

The second category is for those cities and districts where the infection rate is five percent and oxygen beds are filled with 25 to 40 percent. Under the third category, such areas will come where the infection rate is between five and ten percent and oxygen beds are more than 40 percent full.

The Thane District Magistrate’s notification states that specific guidelines for each zone will be announced by the concerned municipal authority.
