Petrol-diesel price hike, 21 times in 32 days

Rising petrol-diesel prices in the country have led to talk of citizens suffering from inflation. Petrol-diesel prices have risen 21 times in the last 32 days in the country. Petrol price has been hiked by 27 paise per liter and diesel by 29 paise per liter in the state today. In Delhi too, petrol has crossed the record level of Rs 95 and diesel Rs 86.

With the new price hike, in eight metros of the state, petrol in Ahmedabad has gone up to Rs 92.33 per liter and diesel to Rs 92.90 per liter. In Gandhinagar, the price of petrol has gone up to Rs 92.53 per liter, while the price of diesel has gone up to Rs 93.9. In Rajkot, petrol is being sold at Rs 92.11 per liter, while diesel is being sold at Rs 92.69 per liter. In Vadodara, the price of a liter of petrol has gone up to Rs 92 and the price of a liter of diesel to Rs 92.57. In Jamnagar, the price of a liter of petrol has gone up to Rs 92.26 and the price of diesel to Rs 92.82. In Junagadh too, the price of a liter of petrol has gone up to Rs 92.94 and the price of diesel to Rs 93.52. In Surat, the price of a liter of petrol has gone up to Rs 92.35 and the price of diesel to Rs 92.93. In Bhavnagar, the price of a liter of petrol has gone up to Rs 93.09, while the price of a liter of diesel has gone up to Rs 94.46.

Petrol and diesel prices change every six hours every morning. That is, the new rates apply from six o’clock in the morning. After adding excise duty, dealer commission and other taxes, the price of petrol and diesel almost doubles.
