Order for investigation in the case of sexual abuse and harassment of minor girls

Jamshedpur, Jun 10 (PTI) An inquiry has been ordered into the alleged sexual harassment and harassment of minor girls at a shelter home run by a Jharkhand state-registered NGO, while 40 minor children are being shifted from one shelter home to another. . The probe has been ordered in the wake of an FIR lodged on complaints from two minor tribal girls of the shelter home alleging that they were being sexually harassed and harassed for nearly four years. The shelter was run by the ‘Mother Teresa Welfare Trust’, which has nothing to do with the Sisters of Charity founded by St. Teresa.

However, Jamshedpur Deputy Commissioner Suraj Kumar said that he has constituted an 11-member committee consisting of officers of police, administration and all concerned departments for a high-level inquiry into the matter. He said that 40 minor children of this women’s shelter are being shifted to another shelter home for security during the investigation.

Jamshedpur Senior Superintendent of Police M Tamilavanan told PTI that the two minors have leveled serious allegations against the operator, including others, which are under investigation.

He told that Harpal Singh Thapar, the operator of ‘Mother Teresa Welfare Trust’ of Telco police station area of ​​Jamshedpur, Pushpa Rani Tirkey, President of District Child Welfare Committee, Warden Geeta Devi, her son Aditya Singh, Tony David and other women shelter operated by him. Two minor girls of the house have lodged an FIR of sexual abuse and harassment.

Meanwhile, police sources said that in order to reach the possible hideouts of the named accused, the police of Telco police station have detained five people close to the operator who are being interrogated.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner said that both the minor girls, who lodged an FIR against the director of the disputed trust, were not ready to go back to the Mother Teresa Welfare Trust. He said that both of them got scared due to which both were handed over to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) of Seraikela-Kharsawan district.
