To deal with the third wave of corona, a 30-bed pediatric ICU and 70-bed isolation ward for children started on Thursday at Kovid Hospital, Sector-39. It was inaugurated by Additional Chief Secretary Amit Mohan Prasad. He had come to take stock of the preparations going on in the district to deal with the third wave.

Additional Chief Secretary Amit Mohan Prasad reached Kovid Hospital, Sector-39, at around 12.30 pm on Thursday. He first inspected the state level skill lab set up in the hospital. Saw the arrangements for dummies, delivery rooms etc. of human organs present for training in the lab. For the entertainment of sick children in the ICU ward, he also looked closely at the paintings of cartoons and other games made on the walls.

At the same time, he also informed about the training of doctors going on in the hospital to deal with the third wave. Along with this, he held a meeting with the officials and doctors of the Health Department. Ordered officials to prepare well in advance for the third wave. In order to increase the immunity of children suffering from various serious diseases, orders have been given to double the quantity of nutritious food and to vaccinate the children who have missed the normal vaccination at the earliest. Additional Chief Secretary said that pediatric training will be very useful for doctors in future also.

Increased encouragement of the staff giving duty
In the peak of the second wave, many doctors and staff posted in the hospital were hit by corona infection. However, even after getting infected due to taking both doses of the vaccine, he did not have respiratory and other problems. The staff, being infected, took care and gave treatment to the patients. He encouraged such doctors and staff working day and night in the ICU, emergency and general wards of Kovid Hospital by taking selfies with them.
