- Efforts to protect against third wave of corona infection started
The second wave of corona infection is now weakening in Madhya Pradesh, but apprehensions about the third wave are also increasing. People are scared because children are feared to be the most at risk in the third wave. In such a situation, a new campaign has been started in the capital Bhopal. On the initiative of Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang, a campaign has been started to motivate the general public to get the vaccine through the popular cartoon characters ‘Motu and Patlu’ among children in the capital.
On Thursday, Vishwas Sarang came out on the streets of the city with Motu-Patlu. Motu-Patlu reached the shopkeepers in the market and distributed masks to them. The popular cartoon character appealed to the shopkeepers to keep social distancing and get the vaccine done. Also gave the message that “Whoever loves his children, how should he refuse the corona vaccine” and “Papa-Mummy, first the mask, only then the second task”.
Minister Sarang said that in view of the possibility of third wave of corona, this campaign has been started keeping in mind the children. The campaign includes precautions to be taken for children and touching appeals made by children to their parents. In the campaign, through pleasing slogans, people are being advised to follow the Corona guidelines. The campaign is being jointly organized by NSS, Awaaz, UNICEF and district administration.
The number of new cases of corona in Madhya Pradesh has now come down to less than 500 daily. Barring Bhopal and Indore, the average weekly positivity rate has come down to less than 2% in the rest of the 50 districts of the state. In terms of infection, MP has come to 23rd place in the country. Preparations are being made from now on to ensure that there is no effect of the third wave of virus infection.
