According to a local report, the boats of Millat Express went out of control and fell on the second track and collided with the oncoming Sir Syed Express. So far 30 people have been killed in the accident. The accident took place at 3:45 am when the Millat Express was traveling from Karachi to Sargodha and the Sir Syed Express from Rawalpindi to Karachi. Even 4 hours after the accident, no officer reached the spot and no heavy machinery was delivered. The train had to be cut to get out the people trapped in the train but even after several hours of the accident the big machines did not reach there. The injured were taken away by tractor trolley.

Eight of his coaches derailed. One person was killed in the incident. While about 40 people were injured. Meanwhile, several people were trapped in the train.
