Maharashtra government requests NDRF to deploy 12 teams in five coastal districts

Thane, Jun 9 (PTI) In view of the India Meteorological Department’s warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall in the Konkan region of Maharashtra between June 11 and June 15, the state government on Wednesday asked the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to cover five coastal districts. Requested to send 12 teams.

The State Disaster Management Authority requested the Commandant of NDRF to deploy teams in Thane, Raigad, Palghar, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts by the afternoon of 10 June.

Palghar District Magistrate Manik Gursal said in an official communication with the NDRF that the authority has requested to deploy four teams of NDRF in Ratnagiri district and two teams each in other districts.
