Kovid-19 restrictions may be relaxed after the decline in infection rate in Pune city

Pune, Jun 11 (PTI) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said on Friday that the administration may consider easing restrictions if the infection rate in Pune city is below five per cent in the next two days.

Last week, Pune city was included in the state government’s level category three. However, the city level has come under the category of two after the infection rate came down a little below five percent here.

In areas falling in level two, shops are allowed to remain open till 7 pm. Whereas hotels, restaurants and eateries can function till 10 pm to serve food with 50 percent capacity and malls can be opened following social distancing norms.

Pawar said, “The infection rate in Pune city has gone below five per cent and the administration has decided to give more relief to the city.” And if it is below 5 per cent, the level two exemption will be provided here as well.
