Kochi, Jun 6 (PTI) Facing allegations of using hawala money in Kerala’s April 6 elections, the BJP on Sunday accused the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front government in the state against it on a highway in Thrissur district. Accused of doing “vendetta politics” in connection with the theft.

At a press conference held ahead of the state BJP’s core committee meeting here, senior party leaders alleged that the accused in the Kodakara dacoity case belonged to Left parties and that the police was running “a proper political campaign” on behalf of the CPI(M).

Strongly supporting its state president K Surendran, the party also said that he was personally being targeted by the LDF government and false propaganda was being spread against him and his family.

BJP leaders also condemned the Kochi city police’s action that led to changing the venue of the party’s core committee meeting from a hotel to its district committee’s office.

Before the meeting, the police gave a notice to the hotel management requesting them not to allow the meeting without following the rules of Kovid-19.
