During joint checking of RPF and GRP in Kanpur, a person was caught cheating people by posing as TTE through fake identity card. After questioning the accused, 15 more people were caught checking at the station itself. Fake railway identity cards and papers were found in their possession. According to the Railways, a person from Kanpur was committing fraud by taking Rs.

According to the police, Kanpur RPF post personnel and ticket checking staff were checking on Thursday near the automatic stairs built towards Ghantaghar. Meanwhile, a man wearing a white shirt, Dinesh, was seen checking the tickets of the passengers. He had an icard string hanging around his neck, but the card was not there.

When questioned on suspicion, he told himself to be a railway employee. He showed an ID in the mobile, which had the seal of the Senior Section Engineer’s office. When the checking staff present there refused to recognize him, the records were checked by bringing him to the TTE office. There was no record of any employee named Dinesh, nor was anyone doing training.

After rigorous interrogation, the GRP launched a campaign and caught 15 such people from the station, who were working as TTEs. They were calling themselves under training. Fake IDs and fake appointment letters were also found in their possession. Some people even used to take his attendance. RPF has come to know that Rudra Pratap Thakur Dinesh Singh, a resident of Panki in Kanpur, used to do this fraud by calling people to Gate No-1 of Central Station or sometimes at Panki station by pretending to be a TTE or Porter job in the Railways. A car has been recovered in the raid on Rudra’s house. He escaped.
