J&K: Man who sheltered terrorists arrested after 22 years

Jammu, Jun 7 (PTI) A man wanted for 22 years was arrested on Monday on charges of providing shelter and other forms of aid to terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district, officials said.

Mohiuddin, a resident of Shikari village in Mahore area, was booked under sections of the Ranbir Penal Code in 1999 for sheltering terrorists after which he went into hiding to avoid arrest, a police spokesman said.

The spokesman said that on February 18, 2002, a charge sheet was filed against the accused under section 512 of the Code of Criminal Procedure in the local court. “After the case was registered, he (accused) neither cooperated in the investigation nor was caught,” he said.

The spokesman said that based on confidential information, the team of Mahore police station managed to nab the accused.
