Jammu, June 6 (PTI) Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Sunday directed to expedite the land formalities for the upcoming Arun Jaitley Memorial Sports Complex at Hiranagar in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district. Singh along with Union Minister Kiren Rijiju and Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha had jointly laid the e-foundation for the Rs 58.23 crore mega-sports complex in September 2020.
The Minister passed directions to the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council and the Deputy Commissioner, Kathua during the inspection of the site proposed for the construction of sports complex on 270 kanal land.
“Singh directed the Secretary, J&K Sports Council and Deputy Commissioner Kathua to expedite the land related formalities and hand it over to the concerned authorities at the earliest,” the spokesperson said.
The spokesman said Singh was informed that the expected pace of work was not achieved due to the second wave of coronavirus, resulting in delay in land acquisition and completion of related formalities.
