Increase in MSP of Kharif crops will increase the income of farmers, improve living standards: Modi

New Delhi. Prime minister Narendra Modi Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEAMinimum Support Price (MSP) of all Kharif crops for the crop year 2021-22 byMSP) as a step taken in the interest of the farmers and said that this will not only improve their (farmers) income but also improve the standard of living. The Prime Minister tweeted, “Today in the interest of the food donors, the Union Cabinet has approved an increase in the Minimum Support Price for Kharif crops. of many crops MSP With the increase in the income of the farmer brothers and sisters, their standard of living will also improve.

It is to be known that the CCEA increased the MSP of paddy by Rs 72 per quintal to Rs 1,940 per quintal during the crop year 2021-22. Paddy is the main crop of Kharif season, sowing of which starts with the onset of south-west monsoon. The Meteorological Department has predicted normal monsoon in the June-September period.

Minimum support price of paddy increased by Rs 72 to Rs 1,940 per quintal, increased by Rs 100 in the market

The government on Wednesday increased the minimum support price (MSP) of paddy by Rs 72 per quintal to Rs 1,940 per quintal during the 2021-22 crop year. Along with this, the MSP of other Kharif season crops has also been increased. Paddy is the main crop of Kharif season, sowing of which starts with the onset of south-west monsoon. The Meteorological Department has predicted normal monsoon in the June-September period. The decision was taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This will help the farmers to go ahead with sowing the crop in Kharif season.

With the announcement of MSP and advance of Southwest Monsoon, the sowing of Kharif season also progresses. Briefing reporters after the cabinet meeting, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar again allayed the apprehensions about MSP saying, “MSP (on crops) is continuing, it is being increased and it will be there in future also. The cabinet has approved the proposal to increase the MSP of paddy (common variety) from Rs 1,868 per quintal a year ago to Rs 1,940 per quintal for the crop year 2021-22 (July-June). Similarly, the MSP of bajra for the current year has been increased to Rs 2,250 per quintal from Rs 2,150 last year. The Agriculture Minister said that the MSP is being increased regularly and its benefits are reaching the farmers.
