IMF welcomes Government of India’s measures to fight Kovid-19

Washington. The International Monetary Fund on Thursday welcomed the Indian government’s recent announcement to ramp up production of vaccinations and essential medicines to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday announced that the central government will provide free corona virus vaccine to states from June 21 to vaccinate people above the age of 18 years. He had said that in the coming days, the supply of vaccines in the country will be increased to fight the Kovid-19 epidemic.

The Prime Minister said that India has proved its mettle by manufacturing two indigenous vaccines for COVID-19 in a short span of time and vaccinating more than 23 crore people.
