A hearing was held in Ranchi Civil Court on Monday in the alleged horse trading case in the 2016 Rajya Sabha elections. In this, an application was made on behalf of the investigator against former Chief Minister Raghuvar Das, ADG Anurag Gupta and former Chief Minister’s press advisor Ajay Kumar to add section of PC Act. After the hearing, the court of Judicial Magistrate Anuj Kumar has reserved the verdict.
Will Raghuvar Das’s troubles increase?
Now if the court allows the addition of PC Act in this case, then the problems of former Chief Minister Raghuvar Das and ADG Anurag Gupta may increase. The court has reserved the verdict in this matter till June 10. Additional Public Prosecutor Shraddha Jaya Topno appeared on behalf of the state government in the court. He said that according to the evidence gathered by the investigator in the case, sections of the PC Act should be added.
CM Hemant Soren gave approval to run a case under PC Act
Chief Minister Hemant Soren has approved the prosecution of former Chief Minister Raghuvar Das, ADG Anurag Gupta and former Chief Minister’s advisor Ajay Kumar under the PC Act (Prevention of Corruption Act). Anurag Gupta and Ajay Kumar have been considered as the primary accused in this case, while Raghuvar Das has been made the primary accused.

It is alleged that during the 2016 Lok Sabha elections, Anurag Gupta and Ajay Kumar tried to bribe Congress MLA Nirmala Devi’s husband Yogendra Sao to vote for the BJP candidate. At that time, in a viral video, Raghuvar Das and Ajay Kumar had also visited Yogendra Sao’s house in Dhurva. In the video, Raghuvar Das was talking about fixing everything, at the time of this video, Yogendra Sao was absconding in the eyes of the police.
