Persistent cough
A cough that will not go away can be very annoying. Many people may not take this seriously, but coughing for a long period of time can indicate heart problems. When the heart has trouble supplying blood to the rest of the body, it can leak into the lungs and cause a chronic cough. If you have a cough that produces sputum, pay close attention to the color of the sputum. Pinkish-white sputum should be avoided at all costs. If your cough gets worse when you lie down at night, this could be an indication of heart problems.
