Haryana Police has arrested a man accused of raping a West Bengal girl who came on a farmers’ dharna on the Delhi border. The SIT of Jhajjar arrested the accused from Bhiwani, who has been identified as Anil Malik. The search is on for two other accused who are absconding after the incident that happened a few days back.
The incident of rape came to light a few days back when the farmers protesting on the border of Delhi against the agricultural laws. Here a case of gang-rape with a girl from West Bengal came to light. The police of Haryana’s Jhajjar district had constituted an SIT to investigate. A reward of Rs 25,000 was also announced on the accused Anil Malik.
According to the information received, the SIT arrested the accused on Wednesday from a hideout in Bhiwani. He is said to be a resident of Jhojhukalan village. The rape incident took place on April 30 at Tikri border. On the complaint of the girl’s father, an FIR was registered at the Mahila Police Station in Bahadurgarh. When the matter came to light, the leaders of United Kisan Morcha claimed to stand for justice with the girl.
