Girl dies due to dehydration amidst scorching heat, granny sick

Jaipur, Jun 8 (PTI) A five-year-old girl’s death has come to light in Rajasthan’s Jalore district due to lack of water in the scorching heat. Her maternal grandmother who was accompanying the girl had also fallen ill, whose condition is now fine.

Raniwada’s subdivision officer Prakash Chandra Agarwal told ‘Bhasha’ that the incident happened on Sunday when five-year-old girl Anjali and Suki Devi fainted in the scorching sandy gorges in the scorching heat while returning from Raipur to Dungri village in the scorching afternoon. .

On getting information about the incident, the police reached the spot and took both of them to the hospital. There the doctors declared Anjali brought dead while the elderly woman is still fine. Aggarwal said that the post-mortem of the girl has revealed dehydration.

On the other hand, the main opposition party BJP has targeted the Congress government of the state over this incident. Sharing this news, former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje tweeted, ‘Extremely shameful! Is this the water management of the Congress government?’

At the same time, BJP state president Satish Poonia tweeted with the news, ‘Hunger, thirst and death are heavy on the political speeches of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in Rajasthan.’

Nagaur MP Hanuman Beniwal has also expressed grief over the incident. He tweeted, “The death of an innocent child from thirst due to lack of water in Raniwada (Jalore), Rajasthan is extremely heartbreaking and painful! Decades after independence, when such a situation arises due to non-availability of drinking water in remote rural areas, then all the development starts looking negligible.
