Gangster Pujari accepted role in Kochi beauty parlor shooting case of 2018: ATS report

Kochi, Jun 9 (PTI) Gangster Ravi Pujari, arrested in connection with the Kochi beauty parlor shooting in 2018 by the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of Kerala Police, has admitted his involvement in the case. This information has been given in the remand report filed by the ATS.

In the remand report filed in the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (Economic Offenses), Ernakulam on Tuesday, the ATS said that he was subjected to detailed interrogation during police custody in which he admitted his involvement in the case.

He also admitted his role and involvement in the 2010 firing by gang members at Bevincha in Kasaragod. He had planned this crime while in Senegal.

In the Bevincha firing case, criminals had targeted gold trader Mohammad Kunhi in an attempt to extort money from him.

Pujari was brought from Bengaluru last Wednesday in connection with the investigation into the Kochi shootings. In December 2018, a shooting took place at a beauty parlor run by actress Lena Maria Paul.

Pujari was sent back to Prapanna Agrahari Central Jail in Bengaluru on Tuesday after the completion of his custody.

The actress had alleged in her complaint that on November 3, 2018, Rs 25 crore was demanded on her phone through threatening calls from the Internet.

According to him, the caller had identified himself as Ravi Pujari and had threatened to kill him if the money was not paid.
