Jaipur, Jun 8 (PTI) Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday said that for the first time in the life-giving Indira Gandhi feeder of the state, the historic 60-day canal blockade has been successfully completed and 47 km length of relining work has been done. A historic achievement.

Gehlot said, “Relining work was done in seven kilometers during the tenure of the previous government, whereas in our government, the work of relining in 40 kilometer length has been completed, this will set new standards for new works for the future. “

The Chief Minister said in a tweet, “With the relining, water will be available for irrigation in 16.17 lakh hectare command area along with drinking water security of the residents of 10 districts. All concerned officers and personnel deserve to be congratulated for this historic work who worked with dedication and commitment.

He said that after discussions with the Chief Minister of Punjab, 45 km work of relining of Sirhind feeder falling in Punjab region has also been completed, which was not completed till date.
