Don’t use saliva while packing: Court

Chennai, Jun 8 (PTI) The Madras High Court on Tuesday directed traders, hotels, bakeries and other food supply establishments to open or open the plastic covers (plastic covers) used for packing by blowing or applying saliva. Do not try to separate.

The first bench of Chief Justice Sanjib Banerjee and Justice Senthilkumar Ramamurthy passed the direction while admitting a PIL filed by a Tiruchendur-based lawyer B Ramkumar Adityan. The petitioner submitted that there is a need to create awareness regarding the articles of packing.

He said that the packers use saliva to separate the cover and there is a risk of spreading Kovid-19. The bench appreciated the petitioner for giving good suggestion and directed the state to make efforts to create awareness in this regard.
