District CEO and three patwaris arrested for taking bribe

Raipur, Jun 11 (PTI) The team of Anti-Corruption Bureau of Chhattisgarh has caught four government employees and officers, including the CEO of Janpad Panchayat, red-handed taking bribe.

Bureau officials said here on Friday that the bureau has arrested Kuleshwar Gaikwad (60), CEO of Bilaigarh Janpad Panchayat under Balodabazar district, for taking a bribe of Rs 20,000.

Officials said that the applicant had complained to the ACB that in lieu of payment of Rs. 3 lakh due to the school compound construction work, CEO Gaikwad had demanded Rs. 20 thousand from him.

He said that after the complaint, the team of ACB Raipur took action and caught Gaikwad taking bribe at his official residence.

Officials said that the ACB team has taken action in Bastar district and arrested a Patwari taking bribe of eight thousand rupees.

He said that the petitioner had complained to the ACB that Mukesh Kumar Bisai (27), a Patwari of Bhanpuri area of ​​Bastar district, is demanding a bribe of eight thousand rupees for getting the conversion done. He told that later the ACB team arrested the accused Patwari for taking bribe of eight thousand rupees.

Officials said that the ACB team took action in Bheski village of Balrampur district and arrested Patwari Amit Gupta (30) while taking a bribe of 40 thousand rupees.

He said that the applicant had complained to the ACB that Patwari Gupta was demanding a bribe of Rs 50,000 in lieu of giving copy of B-1, map, measles. After the complaint, the team of ACB Ambikapur arrested Gupta taking 40 thousand rupees in cash.

Officials said that the ACB team has taken action in Manpur village of Kawardha district and arrested Patwari Gajendra Chandravanshi (37) for taking bribe of Rs 11,000.

He said that the applicant had complained to the ACB that Patwari Chandravanshi was demanding a bribe of Rs 11,000 in lieu of making a loan book. After the complaint, the team of ACB Raipur arrested Patwari Chandravanshi taking a cash bribe of Rs 11,000.

ACB officials said that a case has been registered against the four accused.
