The administration is on alert regarding a possible third wave of corona in PM Modi’s parliamentary constituency Varanasi. Corona test is being done for children up to 18 years of age from city to village in Varanasi. So far 6829 children have been tested in the sampling which started from June 1 in Varanasi, in which corona has been confirmed in 14 children.
Varanasi CMO Dr VB Singh said that three classes have been made for the sampling of children. Children of 5 years in the first category, 6 to 12 years in the second category and 13 to 18 years in the third category are being examined. The Health Department is working to get about 50 percent of the daily corona test conducted in Varanasi for children.
Centers are built in government and private hospitals
Apart from the government hospitals of Varanasi, 8 private hospitals have also been made centers for the sampling of children. Health department teams are being sent to these centers for sampling, apart from this, every day health department teams are also doing random sampling in rural areas. On an average, 800 tests are being conducted every day in the district for children below the age of 18 years.

A possible third wave of corona is being said to be dangerous for children. For this, preparations are being made in Varanasi from now on. Apart from Pediatric NICU, along with increasing the beds of PICU, necessary equipments are also being procured from it. In Varanasi, the district administration has formed a panel of pediatric doctors and has taken necessary opinion from them. A special pediatric ward of 100 beds is ready in BHU hospital. Arrangements have been made in other government hospitals as well.
