Dhawan to lead Indian team on Sri Lanka tour, Bhuvneshwar to be vice-captain

Team India has been announced for the Sri Lanka tour. Shikhar Dhawan was made the captain of the Indian team while pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be the vice-captain.

New Delhi. Opener Shikhar Dhawan was named captain of the Indian team for limited overs cricket tour of Sri Lanka in July while pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be the vice-captain. India are scheduled to play three One Day Internationals and the same number of Twenty20 matches against Sri Lanka during the tour which runs from July 13 to July 25, which will be played at the R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo. All-rounder Hardik Pandya and spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal have been selected by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in the 20-man squad released on Thursday. Young players such as Devdutt Padikkal and Prithvi Shaw make up the expected squad with two wicket-keeper batsmen in young Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson. Squad: Shikhar Dhawan (Captain), Bhuvneshwar Kumar (Vice Captain), Prithvi Shaw, Devdutt Padikkal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Suryakumar Yadav, Manish Pandey, Hardik Pandya, Nitish Rana, Ishan Kishan (WK), Sanju Samson (WK) , Yuzvendra Chahal, Rahul Chahar, K Gautam, Krunal Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakraborty, Deepak Chahar, Navdeep Saini and Chetan Sakaria.
