The Chhattisgarh government has decided to discontinue the CG Tika app being run for the people between the age group of 18 to 44 years in the state. Vaccination in the state will be done through registration in the Kovin portal run by the central government.
Chhattisgarh Health Minister TS Singh Deo on Tuesday informed about the closure of CG Tika App and once again registration through CoWIN portal. On Monday, Prime Minister Modi announced free vaccination across the country. Responding to this, the Health Minister said that free vaccination for all should have started 4 months back.
The Health Minister said that after the announcement of free vaccination across the country, now in Chhattisgarh too, the Modi government has taken full responsibility for vaccination. That is why now it has been decided to close the CG vaccine application soon.
In Chhattisgarh, all the MLAs had given Rs 2 crore each from their MLA fund to buy the corona vaccine. When asked about returning it, the Health Minister did not give a clear answer. Along with this, he also raised the question that after the announcement of free vaccination, will the state governments get back the money for the vaccine purchased.
The Bhupesh Baghel government had launched the CG Tika app to make everyone in the age group of 18 to 44 years get the corona vaccine. This app was launched like the Covin portal which was developed by Chhattisgarh Infotech Performance Security.
