Congress will contest by-elections on the issues of inflation and covid mismanagement

Shimla, Jun 11 (PTI) The Congress will fight the by-elections to one Lok Sabha and two Vidhan Sabha seats in Himachal Pradesh on the issues of coronavirus mismanagement, price rise and unemployment. A party leader gave this information here on Friday.

These seats are vacant after the death of sitting MPs and MLAs. The state has 68 assembly seats and four Lok Sabha seats. The Election Commission has not yet announced the dates for the by-elections.

All India Congress Committee (AICC) Himachal Pradesh in-charge secretary Sanjay Dutt told reporters that the central and state governments failed to handle the Covid crisis properly. People lost their precious lives due to non-availability of oxygen. Apart from this, people are suffering from inflation and unemployment.

Earlier, Dutt along with Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Mukesh Agnihotri and state Congress chief Kuldeep Rathod participated in a cycle rally against the continuous hike in petrol and diesel prices.
