Ahmedabad, Jun 10 (PTI) Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Thursday inaugurated a command and control center in Gandhinagar to oversee the activities of over 54,000 government-run schools in the state.

Speaking on the occasion, Rupani said that Gujarat has become the first state in the country to set up real time monitoring system of schools.

Through this control room, senior officers will be able to monitor the implementation of various schemes and initiatives like home study and periodic assessment, which have been started by the state government to improve the quality of education.

The Chief Minister said, “Gujarat has more than 54 thousand schools, 1.25 lakh students and four lakh teachers. This command center will help us to monitor the activities and performance of schools located in remote areas. This center will also be useful for interaction with teachers.
