Coimbatore, Jun 5 (PTI) Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary V Ere Anbu on Saturday directed officers of various departments and district magistrates to work to make the state COVID-19 free. Irai Anbu held a meeting with Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan to review the steps taken in Coimbatore and Tiruppur districts to contain the spread of COVID-19. Anbu said that Coimbatore had more cases of infection, but Chief Minister MK Stalin visited the district twice and the steps taken to contain the cases resulted in a drop in the infection rate.

Earlier both the officials visited the COVID-19 patient care center prepared with oxygenated beds in the Codissia complex.
According to an official release, the Chief Secretary directed the officers to set up new Kovid-19 patient care centers in hospitals with oxygen beds, medicines and vaccines and to monitor the patients living in home isolation.
