Meanwhile, the Chief Minister approved 11 projects including the construction of Biju Expressway worth Rs 448.02 crore. An official said that this approval has been given in the cabinet meeting held through digital medium, which was chaired by Patnaik.

Chief Secretary SC Mohapatra said that the 174 km long four-lane highway from Ghatipara in Nuapada district to Ampani in Kalahandi will not only enhance connectivity between southern and western Odisha but will also boost economic development. He said that the government is also working on developing the Biju Express Economic Corridor along the road in parallel.
