Chandigarh Administration eases restrictions, shops will be able to open till 6 pm

Chandigarh, Jun 8 (PTI) With the decline in the number of COVID-19 cases, the Chandigarh Administration on Tuesday announced easing of restrictions, allowing all shops to open till 6 pm along with night curfew. Time has also been cut.

The administration has also allowed all restaurants, bars, gyms, clubs and spas to open with 50 percent capacity. However, theaters and theaters will remain closed for now.

Chandigarh has registered a decrease in the cases of infection. On Monday, 48 new cases of corona virus infection were reported in the city.

After the Kovid review meeting, the administration decided that all shops would remain open from 10 am to 6 pm. Earlier, shops were allowed to open from 9 am to 4 pm.

An official statement said that the shopkeepers will ensure compliance with the Kovid protocol. Along with this, the work of sanitizing the markets will be done from time to time. Also, a fine can be imposed on the shopkeeper for violation of the Kovid protocol.

According to the statement, the night curfew will be in force in the city from 10 pm to 5 am. Earlier, the night curfew was in force from 6 pm to 5 am on weekends. Similarly, there will be a complete shutdown on Sunday and only shops of essential commodities can be opened.

According to this, there will be a ban on the participation of more than 30 people in all other types of events including wedding ceremonies and funerals.

During the meeting, Administrator VP Singh Badnore directed to ensure vaccination of all health workers as well as to make suitable arrangements of beds for the children keeping in mind the third wave of the epidemic.
