At the BJP headquarters in the capital Jaipur, workers and office bearers raised slogans against the Ashok Gehlot government of the state by wearing black bands.
On this occasion, State BJP President Satish Poonia said, “Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot talks about morality and democracy, but “elephant’s teeth are more to show than to eat”, his words and deeds. There is such a difference and the suspension of the Mayor and three other councilors of Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation in itself proves vengeance and rancor.
He claimed, “Section 39 of the Municipal Act has been misused for the first time in the state. This is clearly the anger and fury of the Congress.
Poonia said, “BJP got a big mandate in Jaipur city, Congress had to face it, since that time there is anger in the mind of the Chief Minister. He converted the ordinary debate between officers and public representatives into criminal cases, it is unfortunate, shameful and undemocratic.
On Tuesday, a delegation led by Poonia met Governor Kalraj Mishra and submitted a memorandum to him. In the memorandum, Jaipur Municipal Corporation Greater Mayor Soumya Gurjar and BJP councilor Ajay Singh Chauhan, Shankarlal and independent councilor Paras Jain were sought to be reinstated and action against the guilty officials and the state government under law.
It is noteworthy that the Rajasthan government on Sunday suspended Mayor Soumya Gurjar and three councilors in connection with the alleged misbehavior with Corporation Commissioner Yagya Mishra Singh Deo on Friday.
After this, on Monday, the government had appointed Sheel Dhabai as the acting mayor of Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation.
