Bihar’s Panchayati Raj Minister Samrat Chaudhary told that from June 16, all the representatives of Mukhiya Pramukh and Zilla Parishad President will start working as chairman and member of the advisory committee. He said that in this regard, the Panchayati Raj Department has prepared a complete proposal for the formation of a consultative committee.
The Panchayati Raj Minister also informed that from June 16, the Mukhiya will be called the Chairman of the Consultative Committee of the concerned Gram Panchayat. Whereas the Up-Mukhiya will be called the Vice-President and the Gram Panchayat Member (Ward Member). Apart from this, all the elected members of the Legislative Assembly, Legislative Council, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha of all the working areas of the Panchayat Samiti will also be the members of the Consultative Committee. He said that the chairman of the advisors of all the Gram Panchayats in the working area of the committee would also be its members.
Samrat Chaudhary, Minister of Panchayati Raj, Government of Bihar, also informed that the President of the Zilla Parishad will be called the Chairman of the Consultative Committee of the concerned Zilla Parishad. At the same time, the Deputy Zilla Parishad President will be called the Vice President and the members of the Zilla Parishad will be called. Apart from this, all the elected members of the Legislative Assembly, Legislative Council, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will also be the members of the Consultative Committee in the working area of the Zilla Parishad. He said that the chairman of the advisory committee of all the panchayat samiti in the working area of the zilla parishad would also be its member and the role of the executive officer would be like that of the block development officer.
Giving information, Bihar State Panchayati Minister Samrat Chaudhary said that during this time the elected Panchayat representatives will continue to get salary and allowances. He also informed that this arrangement would continue till the formation of a three-tier panchayat after the upcoming elections.
