Bihar backward in NITI Aayog’s SDG report, JDU again raised the demand for special status

Politics is not stopping due to poor performance of Bihar in NITI Aayog’s Sustainable Development Goals Index 2020-21. While the main opposition party RJD is continuously targeting Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on the pretext of this report, on Saturday, JDU has once again started the old rage of special status to Bihar. Former Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha has raised his voice in this regard.

In this, while addressing the PMO and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he wrote, ‘Despite the lack of natural resources after the Bihar-Jharkhand partition and the constant bite of natural calamities on the people of Bihar, the NDA government under the leadership of Nitish Kumar has been able to accelerate development in Bihar with its efficient management. The former Union Minister further wrote, ‘The recent report of NITI Aayog is proof of this. Therefore, it is a humble request to consider the long pending demand of JDU to give ‘Special Status to Bihar’ and give justice to the people of Bihar.

Nitish government on target of opposition over NITI Aayog report
In fact, after the report of NITI Aayog came out, Bihar is being criticized everywhere. RJD leaders are targeting the government over this report. RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav wrote in a tweet from his official Twitter handle, ‘Congratulations! After all, after 16 years of Bihar’s hard work, Bihar has been made from bottom to top. In the same Bihar Assembly, Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav also targeted Chief Minister Nitish Kumar after this figure became public.

He further wrote, ‘This is the essence, truth and real face of BJP-Nitish with evidence of 16 years of paper development.’

Tejashwi took a jibe in another tweet and wrote, ‘Many congratulations to the driver of the double engine government for this very poor performance. Kerala did not give even a single seat to the BJP and has secured the first rank. Bihar, which gave 39 out of 40 seats to the BJP and its allies, is doing poorly. It should be noted that the index for Sustainable Development Goals was released by NITI Aayog on Thursday, in which Kerala topped with 75 points while Bihar was the laggard.
