Artificial intelligence will be used in buses to prevent accidents in Karnataka: Deputy CM

Bengaluru, Jun 9 (PTI) A mega scheme to use artificial intelligence in buses of Karnataka State Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will be implemented to ensure the safety of passengers and avoid accidents.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and Transport Minister Laxman Savadi said here on Wednesday that Collegian Warning System (CWS) and Driver Draughtsmanship System (DDS) technologies will be used.

CWC technology will provide collision warnings, out of lane warnings and other warnings, while DDC technology will prevent drivers from taking a nap while driving.

In addition, these technologies will send information to the control room, keep drivers alert and help prevent accidents, Savadi said in a statement.

He said there are plans to use this technology in 1,044 KSTRC buses in the next few days and this number will be increased later.
