Amidst the continuous decrease in the cases of corona, the Bihar government has now started the process of unlocking instead of lockdown. However, Nepal still has a lockdown due to corona infection and the Indo-Nepal border has been sealed for a long time. Due to the border being sealed, people of both the countries are prohibited from entering each other’s country. Despite this, the smuggling business is being carried out by the smugglers in the Indo-Nepal border. The open borders of rural areas are being used for smuggling.
This came to light when the SSB stationed on the border at Phulkaha Bhodhar Chowk detained three smugglers from a vehicle with a huge quantity of liquor. Action was being taken in the border areas of Sunsari, Morang and Saptari district areas of Nepal due to the continuous smuggling from the Indo-Nepal open border. During this, smuggled goods being smuggled from India to Nepal were being caught.

On the other hand, SSB 56th Corps Commandant Mukesh Kumar Munda gave strict instructions to all the BOP in-charges to fast patrol the Indo-Nepal open border and keep a close watch on every suspect. After which a special patrolling operation was conducted on the open border under the leadership of Phulkaha SSB camp in-charge Durgesh Pandey. During this, an SUV vehicle coming from Nepal to India was stopped during the entry. When the vehicle was checked, it was found to be full of alcohol.

The liquor being smuggled from Nepal was to be delivered in Supaul. SSB recovered 1500 bottles of Nepali liquor from the vehicle caught at Bhodhar Chowk. This action was taken by the SSB near pillar number 187 and in the case three smugglers were detained. SSB is interrogating all three.
